Meet our Activities Co-Ordinator
In this blog, we’d like to introduce you to our Activities Co-ordinator, Sarah McGonagle.
Sarah has worked in the care sector for nine years, joining the Maesbrook team in 2017. She became our official Activities Co-ordinator last year, a broad and rewarding role which is key to helping our residents maintain a strong sense of wellbeing.
A typical day for Sarah involves greeting each of our residents, and visiting them in their rooms. She then spends her time arranging enjoyable and stimulating activities for our residents, including planning visits, events and workshops from groups and individuals visiting the home, and organising trips out, from theatre visits to days at the beach.
As Maesbrook’s residents have varying needs and abilities, Sarah takes the time to get to know each new resident and their families, as well as their likes and dislikes, so that she can tailor activities and events to suit their requirements wherever possible.
Sarah says: “The best thing about my role is that I get to spend quality time with our residents. I love seeing people smile and laugh, and it’s wonderful to help them to do the things they really enjoy. Maesbrook is a great place to work, with a lovely family atmosphere for all involved.”
