The Maesbrook Care Home Quality Survey 2024

There were forty three residents present at Maesbrook Care Home. Questionnaires were sent to all residents with full understanding and all families for those with residents lacking mental capacity, along with all staff members. Two external professionals with frequent contact with Maesbrook Care Home were provided with survey forms. From a possible ninety five surveys distributed there were 20 completed questionnaires returned and included anonymous responses from three members of staff and one resident. This represents a response rate of 21%.

Whilst there were 5 responses made for Inadequate, this was 7% when compared with 93% responses made for Outstanding. Furthermore whilst 26.6% responses rated Requires Improvement with Inadequate, there were 73.4% responses made for Good with Outstanding.

Whilst there was 1 response made for Inadequate, this was 2% when compared with 98% responses made for Outstanding. Furthermore whilst 14.5% responses rated Requires Improvement with Inadequate, there were 85.5% responses made for Good with Outstanding.

Whilst there were 13 responses made for Inadequate, and one anonymous staff member accounted for 8 of these and it is unfortunate that Maesbrook Care Home is thereby unable to resolve any underlying issues that might exist. Recognising this produces a skewed result of 24.1% when compared with 75.9% responses made for Outstanding. Furthermore whilst 19.4% responses rated Requires Improvement with Inadequate, there were 80.6% responses made for Good with Outstanding.

Discussion

From a limited sample of Questionnaires returned it is difficult to generalise these results. However, it appears that people who took the time to complete the questions the impression given is a more positive experience at Maesbrook Care Home is enjoyed by many of the respondents.
